RIO NEGRO BARCO HOTEL
This is a fishing trip especially dedicated for those anglers who are determined to catch a trophy Peacock Bass « Chicla Temensis » in some of the most productive waters in the Amazonian region in term of big fish over 20 lbs and up to 26 lbs , but who want also confort and quality when they come back from a long fihsing day.
Accommodation will be in the lurury « Barco Hotel Kalua» as mothership (nice double cabins with air conditioned, private showers and wc, big uper living room/bar (open bar formula) , solarium …
The boat moves every day (sometimes at night) to new fishing areas while your are fishing or sleeping, which means that you will have access to new fishing grounds during all the week.
Food is great with a mix or brasilian and international cuisine, and service is excellent with a friendly staff. During the week a « Luau « Brazilian meat BBQ diner will be organized one evening on a beach of the Rio.
The Kalua boat will head to some famous tributaries of the Rio Negro like Caures, Cuiuni, Araca , Demini and much more, and sometimes to the upper Rio Negro itself depeding of the water levels and quality of the fishing.
Every morning after good breakfast, you will leave the mothership with you guide on board of good aluminum boats of 6,50 m and powered with 25 hp engines plus an electric motor .
Each guide will have two anglers par boat and he will take care of all details during the day (preparing a fish shore lunch or just setting up your hamoc for a siesta under the trees, setting up baits if you want to do some catfish fishing, unhooking your catches ….) .
You can fish the river shorelines and beaches but you will also head to some excellent hidden lagoons where huge Peacock love to hunt .
You will catch also some other species like Butterfly Peacock (up to 10 lbs) ,Traïra, Arawana, Cachara, Caparari and Piranha during your fishing day.
In the evenings after a long day chasing the Peacock, you can stop for a while an try your luck doing some bottom fishing with baits for giant catfishes like Piraïba or Pirarara (Red tail cat fish ), these hardfighting species can reach weights well over 100 lbs .
This trip is all inclusived from the time of you arrival in Manaus, you will be attended all along your trip by serious professionnal staff, no worries only pleasure .
